Great boots!
These boots are really nice. Warm comfy stylish. They look powerful and well made. Very true to size (at least if you use them with thick socks). I'm a 13 and I can tell these are BIG but I'm big too. Great price also. A really good overall purchase I'm using them right now they are great. I'm very happy.

I LOVE my eccos
I am a 5'6" woman courier for FedEx and am on my 4th pair of ecco boots. Women's boots are too flimsy and in and out of a truck 100+ times a day I need ankle support that women's boots do not provide. Each pair of eccos have lasted 12 months or more! The other day my manager was complaining that he needed a new pair of boots and he proceeded to show me the soles of his 6 month old shoes (mind you he does not put on nearly the mileage on his boots that I do) that he'd paid $70 for and the tread was completely gone in places. My boots on the other hand which I've had over 12 months show lots of tread left. He balked at the $200 price but for me these are worth every penny. They are light weight and do not require a break in period. I prefer the Track II High style the other style I did try but returned because they did rub.

dam fine boots dam fine
I never write reviews ever... I always felt like I did not want to waiste my time. However I realized after spending hours and days of serching for the perfect hiking boots how important reviews are to help one find the right boot.
I live in the rocky mountains of montana and needed a top level boot. I have serched and tryed a ton of brands and I must say... vasque Rules!
I use to own the original zephers before vasque re did them and messed them up. I needed something to replace my vasque zephers I hiked all over Iceland and montana in snow mountains and volcanic rock with my 1st pair and they were amazing. So I figured... why not come back to vasque for a new pair of boots since almost every other brand i have tryed besides merrill have felt crappy to me.
I just got the breeze gtx in the mail and have not hiked in them yet but have worn them around were I live. They feel even better than my 1st pair of zephers. They do not need to be broken in at all and they have a bit of a strech effect to them that felt like a custom fit around my foot the boot felt to form fit around my feet and are not tight or stiff what so ever.
One big thing you must know about vasque before you buy them is this... Always order 1 size higher then what you normally wear. vasque is not true to foot size. I wear size 14 and with both pairs of vasques I have had to get size 15.

Best boots for the bucks
I bought my first pair of these boots in October 2005 and just replaced them with another pair today (March 2007). The old ones had about 1700 miles on them and were getting a bit worn out. My job involves walking most of the day through people's yards and sometimes cross-country. These boots are light comfortable right out of the box and waterproof. In nearly 31 years on the job I've never had any boots as comfortable as these and I've worn just about all the brands out there.
I'm also a backpacker and would recommend these for all but the toughest hikes.

Great boots for travel and general wear
These have been great boots. I am on my fourth pair of the Altitude series- a version I version II and now 2 version IVs. All have been good buys for me. The version IV have been the best but all have been good.
First I have a high arch and have always been hard on any footwear with a tendency to walk on the 'outside' of my foot. I wear these boots to travel in and work in while traveling. Many a mile in airports many miles on concrete gravel dirt and inside simulation facilities. When I travel I tend to only take these boots - my work rarely requires dress clothes the boots look good in an open collar work environment they are comfortable and taking only 1 pair of shoes does cuts down on packing requirements quite a bit for longer trips (3 weeks or longer in duration).
I have taken these boots on three overseas trips - they did well in the Scottish highlands (twice) and London. They did equally well on the beaches of Hawaii Myrtle Beach and Cancun. They have done me well in wet and sand - hot and cold.
To add to this endorsement not only am I hard on shoes I am also quite fat these days - topping 300 pounds. For my health I maintain a walking routine of 1-3 miles a day whenever possible. When I travel these boots are also my walking shoes.
In general Hi Tec have always fit me well. I go back 40 or so years to wearing the Lite series of Hi Tecs while I was in my running the Appalachians days. Given my high arches a tendency for very bad calluses rebuilt right ankle 2 knees that varied doctors have wanted to cut on since early Army days and now my weight I am very picky on shoes. These are the best of the Hi Tec boot types that I have found.
I suspect I have seen the best of my current set of boots - maybe six more months or so of regular wear till they become yard work shoes till their final demise. I have never worn out the uppers in these boots. I have worn the sole down to a smooth surface and worn out the insides (after using new insole inserts a couple of times). They are tough boots.
And I have a back up pair ready to take the place of the current set.
On a down side these style of boots (in general not just Hi Tec) are not sturdy enough for doing squats in Power Lifting circles. One needs a higher and stiffer boot than what the modern ilk of hikers provides. This is the only limitation I have found for these boots.
